Les Thomsen has been with the firm for over 20 years specializing in assisting clients with IRS issues. Extensive successful experience in the areas of Offers In Compromise, Penalty Abatement and Installment Agreements are only a few of the areas that a long list of very satisfied clients have been helped. He understands when an individual or business receives a certified letter from the IRS it can cause an extreme level of stress. To help meet this need he offers evening and weekend appointments. Les stays current with the latest IRS problem resolution techniques by regularly attending IRS sponsored seminars and conferences.

Previously, Les and his brother owned and operated a large auto parts store. This experience allows him to quickly identify with small business owners and their many challenges.

Les is also President and Co-Founder of a 501c3 non-profit, Noah’s Farm. For the last 10 years this charity has operated in Zimbabwe, Africa primarily assisting needy children obtain an education. One young lady he is most proud of lost her dad several years ago. Her mother sells tomatoes to make a meager living while living in a three room house. While helping this young lady with her school fees she graduated high school as the top student in her class. After passing the Cambridge Exam with excellent scores she was immediately accepted into the University of Zimbabwe School of Medicine where she is studying to be a surgeon.

With this experience operating a non-profit company he not only prepares Form 990 tax returns, Les has successfully assisted our clients who desire to start their own non-profit and fulfill their dream.

Sheila Winstead is a Managing Director with more than 25 year of leadership experience. She is responsible for human resource, technology coordination and administrative staff oversight and development.
Prior to joining Mastrodomenico & Buxie, CPAs, Sheila served as the Office Manager of Weaver and Tidwell, LLP. In this role, she led and operated the support team for 6 partners and 40 local tax staff.
Sheila graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University and was awarded the W.W. “Bo” McAllister Award for Outstanding Graduate Majoring in Business Administration.

Jo Ann Garcia is a receptionist with 8 years of experience in administrative support. She is currently responsible for coordinating system processes for the administrative team.
Jo Ann is a lively individual whose attitude is contagious and fruitful to our team.

Denny Carlson specializes in personal tax returns and bookkeeping. He was raised on a dairy farm in Minnesota and farmed with his parents for a couple years before joining the Air Force. In 2012 he retired from the Air Force after a 26 year career with assignments throughout the United States and Germany and deployments in Turkey and Afghanistan.
While on active duty Dennis spent over 20 years as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance representative preparing tax returns for military members and retirees. Prior to joining the accounting firm he worked for a major bank in San Antonio in their mortgage and consumer lending departments. Dennis has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and an MBA from Webster University in St Louis, Missouri. He is the treasurer for his local church, is an avid investor in the stock market and partner in a local investment club.
Dennis’s background benefits our clients as he understands small businesses, partnerships, military and veteran’s pay and benefits, and different types of investments.
